Would you like some coffee produced locally in Guizhou?
Guizhou Coffee has been successfully planted in Tianyuan Village, Longchang Town, Weining Autonomous County.
On May 10, before the reporter entered the coffee garden of Chen Xiaowan's family in Tian Village, Longchang Town, Weining Autonomous County, he saw yellow coffee flowers swaying in the breeze.
The rural village is 2100 meters above sea level, the transportation is inconvenient, the land is barren, it is hard to make money to grow crops, most of the villagers go out to work, and there are many left-behind old people and children in the town.
Feng Xiaocai, a branch secretary of Tianyuan Village, said that last year, by chance, he learned that the climate in the village was particularly suitable for growing coffee, so after discussion, the village introduced coffee beans from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in mid-April 2012 for trial planting in Tianyuan, Geduo and other villages. No one can predict the loss of newly planted land, and the villagers do not dare to root out the original plants to try. Chen Xiaowan and his wife boldly offered to be the leader in the trial of coffee beans.
"I can't remember the number of trials, but the coffee beans actually survived." Chen Xiaowan said that the first seedling raising failed because he did not know the planting method. To eradicate the replanting of plants in the ground, but also declared a failure because the temperature in the rainy season was too low and there was too much precipitation. A year later, when he was ready to give up, with the encouragement of his wife, he decided to try coffee beans for the third and last time, but he failed for the third time. A year later, without success, Feng Xiaocai invited experts for guidance, tried to grow coffee beans several times, and finally saw the little flowers of coffee beans.
Chen Xiaowan calculated that the yield of coffee per mu can reach about 150kg of coffee beans, and when it is fully mature, the yield per mu can reach 300kg to 400kg, and the economic benefit per mu can reach 3000 yuan. His coffee beans will be available for sale in September this year.
Chen Xiaowan said that instead of going out to work for others, it is better to make money for himself on his doorstep. After seeing the benefits of the coffee bean leader, several local families have now begun to raise seedlings.
Kong Tianshou, secretary of the party committee of Longchang Town, said that as coffee bean cultivation is a new industry, it is currently in the experimental and exploratory stage. The town will improve the industrial chain, plan to form an one-stop process of coffee planting, grinding, baking and sales within three years, and set up professional cooperatives, introduce investment and establish coffee bean planting base.
