Introduction to coffee knowledge: what is Lungo coffee?
Lungo coffee refers to "a coffee drink made with twice the normal amount of water through an espresso machine, a Lungo, meaning an 'elongated Espresso.'"
Lungo is Italian, corresponding to English is "long", French is "café allongé", Chinese means "long", the author temporarily transliterated as "corridor" coffee, take the shape of "corridor framework", or translated as "enough" coffee, Liang enough coffee, enough coffee? A Lungo is a coffee drink made with twice the normal amount of water and passed through an espresso machine. Better Chinese translations are welcome.
A regular Espresso coffee takes 18 to 30 seconds to extract, and the volume is 25 to 30 ml; the extraction time of Espresso is extended to about one minute, and the amount of coffee liquid extracted is about 50 to 60 ml. This drink is called "lungo coffee". Conversely, if the extraction time of Espresso is shortened by nearly half, the resulting drink is called Ristreto.
Therefore,"lungo" coffee is not what we often call "American coffee"(caffè américano), the so-called "American coffee" is in the espresso coffee with hot water;"lungo" coffee is not "long black coffee", the so-called "long black coffee" is in the hot water with Espresso coffee. "American coffee" and "long black coffee" are easy to distinguish: the former is "Espresso + water", the latter is "water + Espresso", in different order; and "lungo coffee", the extraction time of Espresso is nearly doubled, and the volume of the extract is about doubled.
If you double the extraction time of lungo coffee and nearly double the volume of coffee liquid, this "longer" drink is called caffè crema, which is rare.
Flavors:
Because the solubility of various flavor components in coffee and water is different, shorten or prolong the extraction time of Espresso, and the coffee flavor components in the obtained extract are also different. Therefore, the taste of the above-mentioned various coffees is different, not only the difference between "light" or "heavy" taste.
