The villagers grow Arabica coffee beans and smell coffee in Datong.
Liu Yixin, a native of Datong, has successfully planted an "Arabica" coffee tree, which is named "Qilan Dayang Coffee" according to the homonym of the Atayal people and the geographical location of the park. It is said that the coffee beans grown in the mountains are rich in acid, and other villagers have tried to plant them one after another. To make Datong villagers float more coffee flavor.
Liu Yixin and Huang Xiulan used to grow cold vegetables for a living. when they visited the south six years ago, they found that the coffee beans planted in Alishan were of high quality and good flavor, and the elevation of the planting park was not far from that of Datong. They soon bought 2500 coffee seedlings and brought them back to the Qilan Mountain area of the English Village for trial planting. Liu Yixin and his wife, originally coffee laymen, read a lot of professional books and groped for themselves, and soon became coffee experts. The survival rate of coffee seedlings is more than 90%.
Liu Yixin's coffee tree, which has gone through a five-year growing period, harvested two tons of Arabica coffee beans for the first time last year, and began to harvest this year. The sight of bright red coffee beans bearing fruit is quite rare in Yilan County.
"Coffee from Qilan Dayang, Datong, is awesome! Liu Yixin says that his coffee trees are irrigated with mountain spring water at an altitude of 500 to 700 meters above sea level. They usually have high humidity and frost in winter. When the coffee is frosted, it produces more fruit acid. Arabica coffee beans taste similar to Manning coffee, which is a major feature after drinking.
Liu Yixin said that after Arabica coffee beans are harvested, they will be peeled, soaked, fermented, filtered, scrubbed, insolated, shelled, and roasted, and every step should not be careless. he currently sets up a coffee shop next to the seventh line of the provincial highway leading to Mingchi to provide mellow coffee for passers-by.

It used to be rich in cantaloupe, but people in the community thought that the cost of cantaloupe pesticides was high. In 1992, it changed to grow coffee, and accidentally found that the coffee beans planted in the shade of the original mixed forest had a better flavor. Now more than 1300 coffee trees have been planted in the community, and coffee drinks have become a local feature. The coffee tree planted in Chaoyang Community is a unique Arabica variety.

A thousand miles to find coffee beans for the dream to fight the limit
Yang San-lang, a senior Taiwanese painter, once said,"I will definitely try everything myself." Therefore, even at 80, he still insisted on sketching. Only by stepping on that land and feeling the sun, air and wind for himself can he truly appreciate the beauty of life nurtured in such an environment. So do painters, so do bean hunters who travel thousands of miles for coffee. Taipei "Haya" Coffee Japanese General Manager San Shangchu
