Starbucks' 2025 New Year Collection: Limited Edition Gifts

If you’re hunting for a small but meaningful gift this Lunar New Year—or just want to treat yourself to something festive and collectible—Starbucks has quietly rolled out its 2025 New Year range. Beyond the usual seasonal mugs and cards, this year’s lineup includes some surprising collaborations and limited-edition items that blend branding, design, and holiday cheer. Here’s everything you need to know about what’s new, what’s worth buying, and how to get it before it sells out.

In short: Starbucks’ 2025 New Year collection features a China-exclusive Moleskine notebook (release date February 1), a tri-brand cup co-designed with Anna Sui and S'well (500ml and 260ml, black with purple accents, on sale January 11), a monkey-costumed plush (165 RMB), a red savings bank (148 RMB), plus a full range of monkey-themed mugs and holiday cards—including an 88 RMB zodiac-themed Starbucks card.

The Moleskine Collaboration: A China-Only Notebook

Starbucks has once again teamed up with Moleskine to produce a limited-edition notebook for the Chinese market. This hardcover journal comes in either red or black, with the Starbucks logo printed on the front. While collaborative notebooks are common in other markets—often earned through drink purchases—in China, this one is sold outright. The exact price hasn’t been announced, but it goes on sale February 1.

The Tri-Brand Cup: Anna Sui x S'well x Starbucks

This limited-edition cup is the result of a three-way collaboration between Starbucks, fashion brand Anna Sui, and insulated bottle maker S'well. Available in two sizes—500ml and 260ml—the cup features a black base with purple accents (Anna Sui’s signature color), along with co-branding on either side. The designs vary, but all versions are eye-catching. The cup set launches January 11 and will be sold alongside purple Anna Sui Starbucks gift cards and matching tote bags.

Monkey-Themed Collectibles for Lunar New Year

With the Year of the Monkey approaching, Starbucks has introduced several festive items. The monkey-costumed plush version of its iconic holiday bear is now in stores at 165 RMB. There’s also a red savings bank shaped like a monkey bowing in greeting, priced at 148 RMB. For coffee drinkers, there’s a full range of monkey-themed mugs and tumblers available now. A special zodiac-themed Starbucks Star card, decorated with watercolour art of a monkey, went on sale December 29 for 88 RMB.

Why These Items Are Limited (And How to Get Them)

Almost all of these products are part of limited releases. The Moleskine notebook and tri-brand cup are especially likely to sell out quickly due to their exclusive designs and collaboration appeal. Starbucks advises customers to visit their local store early to ask about pre-orders or stock availability—waiting until the official release day may mean missing out.
