China's coffee consumption will reach trillions ten years later

According to Liu Biao, at present, the coffee planting area of Pu'er City is 14540 hectares, accounting for 49.39 percent of China's coffee planting area of 29400 hectares; the city's coffee output is 23200 tons, accounting for 64.44 percent of China's coffee production and 66.29 percent of Yunnan's production. As an emerging industry in addition to Pu'er tea, Pu'er City has established the Comprehensive Standard for small seed Coffee in Pu'er City, strengthened product safety supervision, and promoted wet processing throughout the city to ensure the quality and characteristics of coffee.
At the same time, the official website of the Pu'er municipal government also shows that the local government hopes to build Pu'er into the coffee capital of China. Pu'er City even proposed that during the 12th five-year Plan period, the local coffee planting area will reach 600000 mu with an output of 70, 000 tons, with a total output value of 1.5 billion yuan. Pu'er will build the country's largest coffee planting, processing base and trading center.
According to data provided by the Beijing International Coffee Industry Association and the China International Trade Center, China's coffee consumption is growing at an annual rate of about 15%, while world coffee consumption is growing at an annual rate of only 2%. Another statistic shows that China's per capita coffee consumption has been increasing at a rate of 30% year by year since 1998. How big can the "cake" of China's coffee consumption market be in the future? Xiong Xiangjin, president of Yunnan Coffee Industry Association, predicted: "within 10 years, China's coffee consumption market is expected to reach 1 trillion yuan, and by 2030, China's coffee consumption market may reach 2-3 trillion yuan. The mature Chinese coffee consumption market should be 3-4 trillion yuan."
