Folgers is a coffee brand from America. In 1963, P & G, in an effort to start a new business, complemented its developed food business by buying Folgers Coffee, the second-largest coffee producer in the US, for $130 million (equivalent to 8 per cent of P & G's revenue that year). However, because of violating the relevant laws, the "relationship" did not come to fruition until July 1980. In the 1970s, P & G began to promote the Folgers brand across the United States, overtaking Kraft Maxwell in the late 1980s to become the largest coffee brand by sales in the United States. Although the sales volume of Folgers's ground coffee is second to none in the American market, with the rapid rise of Starbucks and other large coffee chains, coupled with the general rise in coffee bean prices and the surge in the number of gourmet coffee brands, the development of Folgers has been greatly affected, among which the consumption concept and behavior of young consumers are the most influential.
