In such a high altitude environment, low temperature delays the ripening period of coffee berries, about a month later than the normal ripening period. While the fertile volcanic loam provides sufficient nutrients for coffee, coupled with the excellent microclimate brought by the Baru volcano, Elida Manor has been able to repeatedly win cup tests and competitions. Coffee is grown from 1670 meters to 1850 meters above sea level. It is one of the two highest-altitude coffee farms in Panama (the other one with these elevations should be Carmen in the Vulcan Valley) the Poquet region has always been the most high-profile coffee producing area in Panama, and there are many famous estates in the area-such as Esmeralda, which is famous for the Geisha variety World War I.
