Nowadays, coffee has gradually become an important drink in people's daily life. With the concept of healthy living becoming more and more popular, healthy and original organic coffee has also been sought after by many coffee lovers. "is the organic coffee on sale real?" It has also become a topic of concern to consumers.

There is little certification of organic coffee in China.

Liu Ping, an agricultural industry researcher at the China Business Intelligence Network Industry Research Institute, said that at present, most consumers lack knowledge of organic coffee, consumers lack enthusiasm for consumption, and the organic coffee consumption market has not yet formed a scale.

The reporter visited various brands of coffee stores and found that a coffee chain store played organic coffee to attract consumers. If you replace the same latte with organic coffee beans, the price per cup will increase accordingly. Some consumers in the store also asked, "Why is organic coffee more expensive than regular coffee?" Researcher Liu Ping said that compared with ordinary coffee, the price of organic coffee is higher. Because organic coffee takes more labor than ordinary coffee, and its output is lower than that of coffee products with high yield through chemical reactions such as chemical fertilizer catalyst, so the relative cost input is larger.

The reporter logged on to the relevant website to enter "organic coffee" and found that there was no manufacturer or certification certificate in the product introduction, and the "organic" identity could not be verified. In this regard, industry insiders pointed out that at present, there is no relevant organization of organic coffee certification in China, organic coffee is more used as a publicity stunt to promote sales, and the phenomenon of "selling sheep's head and hanging dog meat" still exists in the organic coffee market.

"due to the relatively strict certification procedures for organic food, there are very few coffee enterprises in China that have passed the certification of organic coffee." The relevant staff of China Green Huaxia Organic Food Certification Center said that organic coffee strictly implements the standards of organic products in the environment of origin, planting process, processing, packaging and other links. For example, the use of chemical synthetic substances and transgenic technology is strictly prohibited in the production process, and the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and hormones is prohibited; at least 95% of the raw materials in the processing process must come from organic planting bases.

The nutritional advantage of organic coffee is not obvious.

Zang Quanyi, a national second-class public dietitian, pointed out that the advantage of organic coffee is mainly reflected in food safety, which can avoid consumers' intake of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, hormones and so on.

Zang Quanyi dietitian said that in terms of nutritional value, the nutritional content of organic coffee is not much different from that of ordinary coffee. However, because the growth process of organic coffee is relatively long, it contains slightly higher nutrients. However, as a daily consumption, the role of the higher nutrients of organic coffee is not obvious.

In addition, there is little difference in health efficacy between organic coffee and ordinary coffee. It mainly excites nerves and muscles, dilates blood vessels, helps cardiovascular disease, promotes gastrointestinal peristalsis, aids digestion and diuresis. "it should be noted that for the current popular coffee enema, if not under the guidance of professional health departments, it is necessary to pay attention to health risks."

Keep an eye on the organic certification logo when you buy

Coffee has become an indispensable drink in life for Mr. Yang, a coffee lover. Mr. Yang said, "the taste of organic coffee is not much different from that of ordinary coffee, and what we pursue more is the freshness of its concept." In terms of taste, people who are sensitive to taste still feel this way: organic coffee will be closer to the original taste of the variety to which it belongs, the dietitian said.

So, how to distinguish between organic coffee beans and ordinary coffee beans? Zang Quanyi believes that if you can see coffee beans that have just been picked, it will be easier to identify them. Organic coffee beans and ordinary coffee beans are not very consistent in size and appearance, and organically grown coffee beans are relatively small. However, after the coffee beans have been carefully picked and graded, it is difficult to distinguish them from their appearance. "after being processed into powder, compared with coffee made by the same variety and the same method, organic coffee will have a slightly stronger flavor."

Shen Guanghong, deputy director of China Green Huaxia Organic Food Certification Center, suggested that when consumers buy organic coffee, if it is coffee with packaging, pay attention to whether the packaging carries the Chinese organic product certification mark and number. For organic coffee sold in bulk, it depends on whether the seller can display or provide a copy of the organic product certification certificate.
