Yunnan coffee exports shrink by 90% after three years
The general meeting of Yunnan Coffee Industry Association was held in the conference hall of Lianyun Hotel. The meeting summarized the development of the coffee industry in Yunnan Province in 2015, analyzed the current development situation and existing problems of the coffee industry in Yunnan, reviewed the main work of the Association last year, and reported the work plan for 2016.
Last year, Yunnan Coffee Association established the Professional Committee of Yunnan Coffee Industry Association, which developed 38 new enterprises to become member units and strengthened the strength of the association.
This year, the Yunnan Coffee Industry Association will further enrich the contents of the "Yunnan Coffee" Wechat public platform, strengthen external publicity, actively organize training, and make use of local resource, cultural and policy advantages to carry out overall positioning, packaging and publicity of agricultural products with local characteristics. At the same time, the Association will participate in the preparation of the 26th World Coffee Science Congress to be held in Kunming from November 13 to 19, which is the Olympic event of the global coffee industry. The association will also actively organize the establishment of the "China Coffee Industry Association" and make new attempts to open up the domestic coffee consumption market.
The meeting recommended that all member enterprises: first, put the standardized processing methods of Yunnan coffee on the agenda and devote themselves to processing high-quality coffee; second, note that Yunnan will change the pattern of relying entirely on exports in three years' time, and coffee exports will be reduced to 10% of the total; third, there is great potential for coffee consumption in China, calling on more coffee enterprises to make efforts on deep processing and brands.
