Starsis, an architectural studio in Seoul, designed the Gyeongseong Cafe with reference to the look of Korea in 1936. The design of the coffee shop mainly revolves around three key words: demolition, combination and collection. On this point, designer Park Hyun-Hee said: "keywords do not need to be complex, let alone serious, commercial space should make customers feel relaxed and comfortable."

The demolition is because there are a lot of things in the original space that need to be removed and re-integrate the project with other elements. The quality of the Gyeongseing Cafe is unforeseen before demolition, with broken tiles, uneven floors and exterior cement materials. The damage and wear and tear of this project are for different purposes, and finally create a real and vivid space.
