Coffee farmer Liu Yiteng pointed out that the harvest period of Gukeng coffee is coming to an end from October to March of the following year. It takes dry weather for coffee to blossom and bear fruit. Because of the heavy wet and rainy season in Taiwan, as well as the effects of cold damage and typhoon damage at the beginning of last year, the production of coffee has been reduced in all parts of Taiwan this year, and only a few areas have survived. This year, the output of raw coffee beans in Taiwan has decreased by more than 60%. Because the output is low, and because it has just been harvested, many operators and farmers are willing to sell raw beans and wait and see what happens.

Guquan Coffee Farm has planted 3, 000 coffee trees and harvested 1800 kilograms of raw beans with shells last year, but this year it has produced only a fraction of 800kg. You Mulin, a coffee farmer in Huashan Village, Gukeng Township, said that the yield was less than one-third, and some of the whole garden even had no fruit to harvest.

Liu Yiteng said that at present, coffee trees have begun to bloom. At present, there are fewer Rain Water, more sunny days, and good flower conditions. As long as they do not encounter typhoons and diseases and insect pests, coffee fruits should bear a bumper harvest by the end of this year. As for the price, it should not change much.
