The expanding Magnolia Coffee in the making

Owner Jay Gestwicki said the enhancements were part of the brand's focus on more regional and national wholesale customers.

"We know a lot about the Charlotte market and the types of coffee and roasting that the city likes," he said. " "and we think this quality can now work in other markets."

At the end of last year, Magnolia Coffee got a high score for Coffee Review, scoring 93 points and winning the third consecutive SOE title in the country.

Coffee tasting room

Part of the Gestwicki project is the coffee tasting room in the coffee shop.

This will be the place where customers sample the coffee, visit the facilities mini, learn about the process and buy directly from Magnolia Coffee. Gestwicki says they will release a limited version of special coffee, similar to the limited bottle release we now see in breweries.

In addition to tasting outdoors, Gestwicki is upgrading the Magnolia espresso training lab to educate customers and family coffee lovers.

"We found a person who craves more information and how to build his own coffee shop at home," he said.
