I was deeply attracted to contact with coffee in December 2015. I like coffee culture, especially coffee flower. I think pulling flowers can make coffee very different. The art of flower drawing attracts me very much. Now the main energy is to pull flowers to the extreme.
I got a lot of advice from my predecessors in practice, and gained a lot of experience after practicing for 4 months. To make a flower, you must start from the heart, from the heart-shaped pattern. Only by learning other patterns can you quickly master, practice, record, modify, and practice. I was thinking when I washed in the morning and when I was taking the bus. Thinking about it all the time. I think Lahua has been integrated into my life.
When the flower has achieved certain results, it is found that for a cup of coffee, there is only a good-looking pattern, but also need to have a better flavor. The taste of coffee is the most fundamental. So began to focus on grinding on extraction. Start powder testing and debugging every day to ensure the taste. Editor Q: Hello, do you or the young baristas you come into contact with are more enthusiastic about flower pulling than coffee itself?
Shu Peng A: some young baristas are keen to pull flowers more when they first enter the industry, and they themselves are the same, ignoring the nature of coffee. Later, I noticed that baristas have to face customer service and make customers satisfied. It is important to make a cup of coffee with the right taste and simple beauty. Flower drawing is embellished with coffee, and it can also pursue the perfection of art, but it is necessary to distinguish between production and practice.
Editor Q: after reading your flower drawing works, from combination to embossing, from the ordinary size cab latte cup to the espresso cup. What do you think is the biggest difference between combination and embossing? What can I do for you?
Shu Peng A: embossing embodies the beauty of lines, and the lines are clear and symmetrical. Milk foam needs to be relatively thin in order to have good fluidity, as well as smooth grease. The rhythm and frequency of the swing should be well mastered so that the beauty of the embossed lines can be reflected. The combination embodies a pattern with a main body, the layout of the space and the symmetry of the whole. Compare the flower jar to a paintbrush and draw wheat ears, roses, swans, tulips and so on on the grease. Milk foam is thicker than embossing, and the supporting capacity of grease is very good. To the precise operation of each action, control the flow of milk foam.
Editor Q: the smaller the size of the cup, the more difficult it is. How do you practice pulling flowers with different size sizes?
Shu Peng A: the bigger the cup is, the more milk foam is needed for the smaller cup. The smaller the demand for milk bubbles in small cups, the stronger the control over milk flow. The size and shape of the cup will greatly affect the style of the pattern. Be familiar with the characteristics of each cup and try more. To know the amount of milk left in the milk tank after drawing, find the amount of milk foam needed for different cup sizes. Too much foam will hinder the control of the size of the milk flow. It is suggested to start with some basic pictures such as white heart, thousand-layer heart, leaves, wheat ears and so on.
