At that time, the coffee planting scale in Yunnan reached 4000 hectares. In 1990, Nestle started Yunnan coffee cultivation. In order to increase production, it began to introduce Catim coffee varieties from Brazil. By 1997, the planting area of Yunnan reached 7800 hectares.

Until recent years, the fine coffee industry has continued to develop, and the processing method of coffee beans has become more and more novel. Through various innovative ways to process coffee beans, the flavor quality of coffee has been improved. Yunnan coffee also valued this point, using special processing methods to cover up the lack of coffee flavor, and then everyone drank it and said yes! So Yunnan coffee beans began to be active in the fine coffee market.
Yunnan coffee bean varieties
Although the Yunnan katim flavor of special treatment method is very good, if it develops for a long time, everyone will be very unfamiliar with the taste of Yunnan coffee. Qianjie thinks that if you want Yunnan coffee beans to become delicious, you should start from the root. Therefore, since 2013, Qianjie Coffee has planted iron pickup coffee trees in Lincang, which is also the coffee variety brought by missionaries in those years.
The reason for choosing the iron pickup variety is that it is one of the oldest coffee varieties, and the Arabica varieties we see later are all derived from this variety. The variety itself has a clean coffee flavor, although the yield is not as high as katim, and the cultivation is difficult, but the delicate acid has been balanced flavor can always make people aftertaste. Yunnan Tiekka coffee beans grown in Qianjie have delicate acidity, licorice sweetness, slightly lower body and overall balance.

Katim, on the other hand, is a combination of Arabica and Robusta and has 25% Robusta genes, so the coffee flavor is not as clean as the pure Arabica variety. However, as people pay more and more attention to the treatment of coffee beans, the equipment of sunning equipment/washing fermentation tank has been upgraded. Now Yunnan Katim under traditional treatment method can also show good coffee flavor. How does Yunnan coffee taste better?
