The story that Qianjie learned is that during the Japanese occupation of Indonesia during World War II, a Japanese soldier drank mellow coffee in a cafe, so he asked the shopkeeper the name of the coffee, and the owner mistakenly thought he was asking where you were from. So the answer: Mandaining. But the veteran also misheard it as Manning. After the war, the Japanese soldiers recalled drinking mellow "Manning" coffee in Indonesia and wanted to start the coffee business in Japan. As a result, 15 tons of Indonesian coffee was transported to Japan, which was very popular. That's how Manning's name came out, and the coffee merchant is now the founder of the famous PWN Coffee Company.

It was this double misunderstanding that made the name Manning spread and became world-famous. And the origin of Mantenin coffee beans is also very interesting. By definition, only Arabica coffee beans from North Sumatra can be called Mantenin coffee beans, so the coffee grown in Robusta on the south of Sumatra and in Java and Sulawesi cannot be called Mantenin.

How to brew manning coffee?
