Gold Coffee, a well-known chain roaster, has exploded a wave of layoffs. It is reported that more than 50 people have been laid off and 21 stores have been closed. There may be two more waves of layoffs in the future, and 71 stores in Taiwan will no longer sell bread products.
According to Apple, there have been complaints that the gold mine has closed its central bakery without warning since June this year and laid off a central kitchen baker in the north in July. In response, Gold Mine responded that due to adjusting its product strategy in the first half of the year, it decided to take away the baking line, leaving only coffee and desserts, and stressed that all 50 bakers had been laid off in accordance with the law, while some stores were suspended to recall employees for re-education and training.
Gold mine said that in the future, the product department will strengthen the boutique coffee, recall employees to re-receive boutique coffee education and training, and the store will reopen after the training, and the personnel will not be affected. However, with regard to the massive layoffs in the gold mine, the Taipei Municipal Bureau of Labor said that so far, it has not received any notice of layoffs or mass dismissals from the gold mine.
