The USDA released weekly export sales data from September 8 to September 14, showing that the weekly net export sales of wheat in the 18-year period since June were 307200 metric tons, down 3 per cent and 24 per cent respectively from the previous week and the past four-week average. of this total, 77900 metric tons were sold to the Philippines. Mainland imports of soybeans reached an all-time high of 8.45 million tons in August 2017, as improved profits boosted import demand from buyers, according to Chinese customs data. Mainland soybean imports rose 10.2 per cent in August from 7.67 million tons in the same period last year, but down 16.2 per cent from a record high of 10.08 million tons in July. From January to August this year, the mainland imported 63.34 million tons of soybeans, up 16 percent from 54.67 million tons in the same period last year.
