There is no distinction between male and female coffee beans, which is a gimmick term coined by businessmen.

The correct words are "flat bean Flat Beans" and "round bean Peaberry".

Under normal circumstances, a coffee berry has a half-divided flat bean (seed), but in a few cases the internal seed does not split, but presents a complete oval grain of a pill bean. Generally speaking, the yield of pill beans is about 50% of that of flat beans.

I have heard that there are male and female flowers, coffee beans are the seeds of coffee trees, how can there be a difference between male and female seeds? Does the seed of a male bean grow into a male tree, while a female bean grows into a female tree? There is no difference between male and female coffee trees, and each coffee flower also has both male and female organs. What about male bean coffee?

A normal coffee bean should have two seeds, but a male bean (pill bean) coffee is particularly hypertrophic because one of the seeds is underdeveloped, and because it gets double nutrition, it tastes better than a mother bean (flat bean) coffee.

* the mother bean (flat bean) means that the coffee beans we generally see are half-sided, with a flat appearance and obvious grooves in the middle after baking.

* the male bean (pill bean) is a whole bean with an oval appearance, fine grooves in the middle after baking and maintaining the whole shape of the original bean.

Only 5% of a coffee tree are beans (balls) and the rest are female beans (flat beans). For every 100 grams of output, only 5 to 6 grams of beans can be selected.

Conclusion: scarcity is the most precious thing, and the value of the same batch of beans is higher than that of flat beans, but the final value lies in their own taste.
