Casa Louise Bolina Manor

Bolina Manor was founded in 1900 by Mr.Segundo Diaz, a Colombian soldier who was sent to Panama to solve separatist problems with the army. Panama became independent as the political situation failed to change the status quo. Mr.Segundo Diaz also fell in love with this place and the girls here. Under the peaceful transfer of power, he chose to settle in Panama and started the farm.

Gradually, the farm became a representative local coffee farm, mainly producing high-quality coffee beans in 1930. But in the first recession a few years later, his son Don Manuel was forced to sell his father Mr.Segundo Diaz's life-long career. In 1997, another negative economic environment gave Mr.Jacob Boot of Casa Ruiz S.A. The opportunity to run the farm.

Under the leadership of Mr.Jacob Boot, Bolina Manor won the first place in Best of Panama, won the championship of Best of Panama1998/1999 in a row, and also won the first place of SCAA-Cupping Pavilion in 2000. In recent years, it has achieved quite good results in the Best of Panama of the new system for many times.

The coffee tree species of Bolina Manor are mainly ancient tin card species, and they make coffee beans have a varied and rich experience through different treatments. Sun beans have the taste of strawberry, wine meal, drupe and black cocoa. Washing exudes the aroma of grapefruit, nuts and black sugar, but honey treatment has the flavor of dried fruit, almond and black tea.

Different from the sack packaging of ordinary raw beans, the raw beans in the manor are sealed with a 9-pound vacuum seal.

La Berlina Manor is located in a place called Horqueta in the Pokuit region of Chiriqui province, adjacent to Costa Rica, on the edge of La Amistad International Park. La Berlina was founded in the early 20th century by a Colombian soldier named Sgundo Diaz, who lost his job because of the independence of Panama and fell in love with a local girl in Poquet, so he decided to settle here and build La Berlina Manor.

At that time, the Diaz family found many wild coffee trees around the Poquet Mountains, so they opened up about 80 acres of land to grow coffee. Later, Diaz's descendants were forced to sell the estate under pressure, and the buyer was Plinio Ruiz. He heard that the estate had a good reputation from the 1920s to 1930s, so he decided to buy La Berlina. Casa Ruiz is Plinio's company, and he plans to revive La Berlina's former glory.

The Ruiz family has a long history of growing coffee in Panama, but in the flood of Poquet in 1970, the coffee plantation industry was largely destroyed, and Ruiz had to shift its focus to coffee roasting and export trade. But there was a turnaround in the late 1970s, and coffee cultivation had better market opportunities, so the Ruiz family returned to their old business, invested more in coffee cultivation, and eventually became the most influential company in Panama's Pokuit region, balancing coffee cultivation, roasting and export sales.

The Ruiz family is also the sponsor of the Ng?bere language project. Ng?bere is the language of the local Guayami people, who even call themselves Ng?be. Many people here work in coffee gardens during the coffee harvest season, and for many, this is even their only source of income. The purpose of the language project is to protect the local indigenous culture and to promote the language into a local standard language.
