Introduction of Anaka 14Anacafe-14 Coffee Bean study on adaptability of New Coffee Variety
Anaka 14
In 1981, Mr. FranciscoMancham é, a producer in the Chiquimula coffee district of Camot á n, established a small piece of coffee variety Catimor, brown buds, near Pacamara plants. Through natural hybridization, we have naturally obtained plants with the characteristics of high vitality, high yield and large grain size. After several selection cycles for more than 30 years, this excellent variety called Anacafe-14 was obtained. in addition to the above characteristics, it also has rust resistance, drought resistance and good cup quality.
Characteristics of origin:
The natural cross that produced the origin of this variety took place at Eltesolo Coffee area 7 of Mr. Francisco Manchamei's property, the Belas Flores Oriental Farm, when producers observed that the plant with outstanding characteristics harvested the best fruit in 1984 and established the first plot that led to the first generation of F1.
In this region, sandy loam is dominant; it is rainy for up to seven months (from May to November), three months of summer is obvious (from February to April), and the annual precipitation ranges from 1500 to 1800 millimeters. The temperature range is minus 3 degrees Celsius in the 15 °cold season and 32 degrees Celsius in the hot and dry season.
History and selection process:
In 2005, during a visit to the site of one of Mr. Noegra's farms in District VII (Zakapa and Chijimura), Anakov technical consultant discovered new plants and was aware of the genetic potential and initiated accompaniment and supervision to validate the technical characteristics. After nine years of research, valuable characteristics have been found, such as rust resistance, drought resistance, excellent vegetative growth and high productivity. Anacafe é-14 has many varieties, few varieties and rich varieties, and its fruit is oval, which is larger than the standard. Anacafe-14 is currently studying the adaptability of Anacaf é-14 in other coffee growing areas of the country.
Where is there a pure blood?
According to the field survey conducted by Anacafe, there are currently only three plots with genetic purity and recommended characteristics to produce seeds for this variety, which are located on farms: Majadas del Tesoro and Bellas Flores de Oriente, in the village of El, Tesiqu, Camot á n and Vista Hermosa in the two municipal governments of Esquipulas,Chiquimula.
In 1981, Mr. FranciscoMancham é, the coffee producer of Camot á n in Chiquimula, established a small Catimor plantation near the Pacamara tree. Through natural hybridization, plants with high productivity, high yield and high cherry characteristics were obtained spontaneously. After more than 30 years of selection cycles, the Anacafe-14 variety has been completed, in addition to the above characteristics, but also has rust resistance, drought resistance and good cup quality.
The natural transit that led to this change took place in the village of El Tesoro in Bellas Flores de Oriente Estate, Mr. San Francisco's property. When the producer observed this new outstanding feature in 1984, he began to harvest the best cherries and built a new plot of new plants. This first plantation gave rise to the F1 generation.
In 2005, during a visit to a plot owned by Mr. no é Guerra, technical consultants from Anacafe Region VII (Zacapa and Chiquimula) discovered the new factory shared by Mr. Mancham é and realized the genetic potential and launched a project to technically verify the characteristics of the new tree. After 9 years of research, it has always been found that rust resistance, drought tolerance, excellent vegetative growth and high productivity and other valuable characteristics, varieties are generally released to the public.
The variety of Anacafe-14 is very short, with rich branches and oval fruit, which is larger than standard coffee cherries. Anacafe is currently conducting adaptive studies in other coffee-growing areas of the country.
