Coffee book recommendations| Popular science reading book "Coffee everywhere"
It has been a good time to become a coffee fan. Compared with the lack of information in the early days, coffee information has circulated rapidly through the Internet in recent years. It is not difficult to obtain knowledge from the Internet, but I believe there are still many people who are used to starting from books first.
This blog will be aimed at my own read coffee books for a simple classification of the introduction, I hope to help friends interested in fine coffee easily find their own bibliography, because this is only personal reading experience, if there are missing other books worth collecting, welcome to provide complete!
Introduction to Coffee History and Coffee Beans
"Taguchi's Fine Coffee Complete Book": Taiwan published "Coffee Complete Book" in 2004, which can be said to be a must-read classic for coffee beginners. In the book, Mr. Taguchi summarized "systematic coffee science" according to his own experience. The book, republished in 2012, has been greatly revised, reducing the chapter on extraction, but has further instructions on systematic coffee science and coffee roasting, providing many useful ideas for coffee roasting. The first chapter on the coffee tree species and coffee bean refining process is also worth a look.
Fine Coffee Studies (Part I)(Part II): Han Huaizong's book has a lot of ink on the development of fine coffee. The book explains and verifies SCAA's "Golden Cup Theory" in detail. The author collects quite a lot of information and even interviews coffee producing areas, which makes the chapters in the book vivid and interesting. If you are interested in the history of coffee, you can't miss the author's translation of Viva Coffee.
Coffee Appreciation Handbook: Although the translation is a bit stiff and the information is a bit old, it introduces quite a lot of coffee producing areas, and its development and evolution, from the perspective of countries and geography, it is quite valuable for reference.
Selected Coffee and Selected Good Coffee: Both are works of Mr. Ke Mingchuan. The book introduces coffee planting, post-processing, grading and brewing taste. The content is very complete. Selected Good Coffee also provides some good opinions on ecological coffee issues.
Coffee knowledge book: collated some of the contents of Japanese coffee mook, if you want to know a brief introduction to all kinds of coffee equipment, coffee producing areas, this book can quickly establish some simple concepts.

II. Manual brewing equipment (hand flushing, Syphon, mocha pot, French press pot)
Coffee Appreciation Chronicles (new edition with the words "Aromatic Revised Edition"), Coffee Crazy Notes, Coffee Prince Takes You to Cafe Addiction have general instructions on these devices.
If you already have the experience of using these equipment to brew, then recommend the "Essence Coffee","Coffee·Espresso Textbook","Daren Class, Teach You to Make Coffee" These three books are more in-depth for brewing techniques, among which "Essence Coffee" provides initial and advanced teaching for various equipment, so that brewing coffee has more ideas,"Coffee·Espresso Textbook" has a lot of brewing syphon skills,"Daren Class," Teach you how to make coffee by hand "is a collection of many Japanese popular shop characteristics of hand brewing techniques, very interesting!"

Third, Italian coffee
To make a good espresso, it is absolutely necessary to make a good espresso first. For suggestions on espresso brewing techniques, please refer to:
Espresso Coffee Bible: Becoming a Coffee Master Must Learn Secret Tips Although I can't see which part is the secret XD, this book starts from the selection of bean grinder and Italian machine, to the details of filling, adjusting and preparing milk foam, which is really helpful to those who are new to Italian coffee brewing.
"Coffee Ultimate Lecture": A teaching book compiled by the Ugly Duckling Barista Training Center. Due to solid teaching experience, it can systematically teach you how to brew Italian coffee step by step, and even carefully point out the mistakes that students often make, such as having a teacher beside them. It is worth a look.

"Italian Coffee Lab": an early classic, there are many introductions to the concept of home Italian machine and Italian coffee. It is said that the author has plans to adapt and reprint, very much looking forward to it!
Espresso Coffee Machine: The first part introduces the structure and principle of espresso coffee machine, and the second half introduces various brands and classic models. A very unique book.
Espresso Complete (by Yoshihiro Menkyo) and Classic Coffee (by Miyuki Miyamae) both have pictures of the fancy making process. Maple Bookstore has another book,"The Delicious Law of Italian Espresso", which is also good, but there are fewer pictures.
Many people want to learn Latte Art, although it is difficult to read books on their own, some live teaching or watching videos on youtube may be more effective, but also a few simple lists for everyone to refer to: "Coffee Latte Art (with DVD)" by Haruna Murayama, because the DVD video is included, it is easier to get started than the Latte Art book with only pictures. Latte Art: Espresso meets Milk and Free Pour Latte Art are recommended for people who already have some basics (can make simple patterns) and have more ideas for creating patterns.
Scott Rao's The Professional Barista's Handbook has some data-based information worth referring to, but it's a little more expensive to send back from abroad.

IV. Coffee roasting
"Coffee Roasting Complete Book": I believe this is the first book for many people to enter the field of home roasting. It has an introduction to all types of home roasting machines and a teaching on the steps of roasting. It is a great book.
"Japanese Coffee Shop Quality Roasting Technology": After having some roasting experience, you will definitely want to refer to other people's roasting techniques or roasting curves, so this book will definitely help you add some new ideas.
"Taguchi's Fine Coffee Complete Book": This book has been introduced earlier. Systematic coffee science may be controversial, but it is also helpful for the concept of roasting!

V. Other
"History of Coffee Addiction-A History of the World in a Coffee Cup": The author tells his wonderful experience of visiting various coffee producing areas in a traveloge-like way, which is quite wonderful.
"Urgent from Coffee Producing Area": The author spares no effort to promote fair trade of coffee beans. The book also tells about many difficulties encountered in reality. After reading coffee beans, there should be more cherished ideas: )
"Coffee in Taiwan","Early Coffee Culture in Taiwan","Coffee People in Taiwan": As Taiwanese, you must understand the history of coffee development in Taiwan!

"King of All Drugs: Pharmacology of a Cup of Coffee": It is often heard that many people have prejudice against coffee because they read online articles or magazines, such as "curative effect" and "caffeine is harmful to the body". It is better to read the relevant books written by pharmaceutical experts, and don't mistakenly believe the remedies or various rumors.
The Age of Women: Taiwan's Coffee Shop Culture in the 1930s: Although it is not directly related to coffee, it is a very realistic description of the scene of Taiwanese coffee shops in the 1930s. It is a very special book.
In recent years, Taiwan publishing houses have actively translated many Japanese and European coffee books. If there are new books, I will definitely supplement this article for everyone, but I also want to remind everyone: it is better to believe in books than not to have books.
A lot of coffee knowledge and ideas are in progress, the content provided in the book may not be completely correct, if the book as a basis to add new knowledge from time to time, or practical verification, will be able to obtain greater fun!
