Laguna Estate is located in Canton Los Planes, a city of Citala, belonging to Chalatenango region, the estate covers an area of about 24 hectares, at an altitude of 1500 to 1700 meters, there are 4 springs, including a lagoon of 1800 square meters to supply Citala(local language means "Star River") The drinking water of this place is about 3000 people, there is also a cypress forest reserve of 10.5 hectares and a natural forest area of 2.1 hectares. Coffee is grown with good shade and chemical fertilizers are used according to advanced systems to maintain good quality.
The use of the estate evolved in three stages, the first being cattle grazing, usually in summer, and the second corn, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, garlic and fruit cultivation In 1995 and 1996, two coffee bean seedlings were discovered, one of which was the 10,000 bourbon variety and the other 7,000 were the pacamara variety, both planted on 3.5 hectares (40% pacamara beans, 60% bourbon beans), and today an additional area is being planted for the pacamara variety.
This batch was purchased through Project Origin's Salvadoran Auction House in 2016. Laguna Estate has always been the winner of many competitions and auctions. After two generations of coffee cultivation, it has continuously improved the quality of the coffee grown. This flavor has some Kenyan dark plum and ripe fruit flavor like sun.
