At present, Starbucks coffee beans are divided into selective coffee beans and non-selective coffee beans. Non-selected coffee beans are divided into regular long-term supply coffee beans, season-limited coffee beans and single producing areas, a total of 13 types.
If you want to make coffee by hand, we recommend you to use moderately roasted coffee beans. If you want to use American coffee and espresso, you are recommended to use deep-roasted coffee beans.
The deeper the roasting, the more mellow and solid the coffee. As a coffee with a large proportion of powder and water, hand-brewed coffee will be cleaner in taste and clearer in flavor than Italian-style American coffee. Deep-roasted coffee beans are also suitable for hand-brewed coffee, but if you want to drink better layering, medium-roasted coffee beans can retain the right amount of acidity, so the coffee will have a richer taste and flavor.
Espresso and American coffee (espresso mixed with water) all need to be extracted by pressurization and high temperature of the coffee machine. Due to the high temperature and speed, the final concentration of the coffee liquid is also high. If you use sour coffee beans for extraction, it is easy to enlarge the sour taste, become acerbity and astringent, and the taste of coffee will be relatively thin, so it is recommended to use deep-roasted coffee beans.
