The province of Chirqui is now home to Panamanian boutique coffee, and Volcan and Boquete near Mount Baru are famous.
Hartman Manor founder Mr. Alios St Hartmannm began growing coffee in the Candela area in 1912. Its coffee has repeatedly won the best Panama (Best of Panama) competitions, and in particular, in order to protect the forest ecology, it is called shady coffee based on the principle of no felling and reclamation, and has obtained the certification of bird-friendly, which is a pioneer in the cultivation of environment-friendly coffee in Panama.
Hartman Manor is a coffee farm run by the Hartmann family.
The founder of the estate, Alois Strasil Hartmann, came to the Boquete district of Panama around 1918 to start his planting business. Hartman now has two coffee farms, Ojo de Agua and Palo Verde, about two miles apart.
Ojo de Agua's coffee is planted under shade trees, and many areas of the estate are virgin forests. It is also one of the buffer zones across the famous La Amistad Forest Reserve in Costa Rica and Panama. The average elevation is between 1220 and 1828 meters. The mud road in the manor leads to various native habitats of animals and plants, making it very suitable for bird watching, hiking and exploration.
Palo Verde Farm is known as Hartman Manor, where coffee is also grown under shade trees in the rainforest, with an average annual temperature of 1250 meters above sea level and annual rainfall of 4500 centimeters. The estate has dirt roads extending in all directions and a small museum collects insect specimens and local handicrafts.
The long-tailed cuckoo has intense berry-like aromas, with fully ripe flavors of sweet strawberries and peaches in the front, soft acidity and sweetness of lemon and citrus, and a sweet finish with cherry wine.
