For those of you who like fine coffee, you should have heard of HIU Plan or drunk HIU Plan coffee. But what is HIU? It's basically a small-farm coffee quality development program. Founder Graciano Cruz built this model on years of coffee production experience, working with local farmers and producers to develop it with the aim of creating quality coffee with a cup score of 85 or more. Each product is tailor-made to meet consumer demand for coffee batches.

HIU, a development project to improve the quality of small-farm coffee, has produced more than 500 unique microbatches of coffee in El Salvador and Panama. Graciano Cruz, founder of HIU, has established this operating model based on years of experience in coffee production. He works with farmers, producers and exporters to develop together from the terroir to create quality coffee.(Cup score of at least 85 points or higher) Each product is tailored to meet consumer demand for coffee batches.

HIU first identifies unique products and producers based on variety, terroir, microclimate, folklore, culture or processing methods, and confirms the essence of raw beans through cup testing to establish flavor profiles. Before the cooperation begins, let producers understand HIU's program objectives and specifications, and jointly formulate quality and yield improvement plans; in the process, improve production technology by educating farmers about relevant knowledge, testing the sugar content of mature coffee cherries, implementing eco-friendly treatment methods, and constructing equipment to improve dry environment conditions.

HIU plans to establish a complete production chain that makes each batch identifiable and traceable: cup testing to establish quality and batch classification, special packaging in units of 50 pounds (vacuum box) or 100 pounds (GrainPro inner bag), maintaining traceability of each batch, and providing roaster coffee flavor files and producer information.
