Unified Brand of SCAA Pathways and SCAE Coffee Diploma system Certificate Program

The Professional Coffee Association (SCA) is proud to launch the brand logo of SCA's unified coffee education program "sca Coffee skills Program".

The sca Coffee skills Program is the result of more than a year of collaboration between professionals from professional coffee communities in the United States and Europe, including enthusiastic volunteers from SCA's Pathway Committee and the European Creator community.

SCA trainer: the program materials will be released soon.

New CSP courses and exams will be introduced to AST in the coming weeks. Lecturers are strongly advised to teach the new course as soon as possible. However, instructors are not required to teach new materials before January 1, 2018. This will give our lecturers enough time to prepare new teaching materials according to the new SCA curriculum.

Cadet: what does the Coffee skills Program mean to you

The new sca Coffee skills Program will include education in the following modules within the coffee industry:

Raw coffee

Brewing

Barista

Sensory taste

Baking

Education in each field starts at the primary level and progresses gradually to the intermediate and professional levels. Students with intermediate and professional qualifications may wish to pursue a teaching career and apply for AST courses.

SCA's unified education program, the sca Coffee skills Program, will include five main modules: raw coffee, brewing, barista, sensory tasting and baking.

Each certificate obtained has a specific score assigned to it. The junior certificate gets 5 points, the intermediate certificate 10 points, and the professional certificate 25 points. The entry score for coffee is 10. If you reach 100 points, you will get a Diploma in Coffee skills.

SCAA Pathways students are required to complete all course assignments by December 31, 2017 to ensure that all certificates obtained are transferable to the new system. Students of the SCAE Coffee Diploma system are advised to transfer to the new sca Coffee skills Program as soon as possible. All training courses and courses attended before the end of 2017 will be recognized by the new system, so students can rest assured that their hard-earned certificates will be recognized.

In the coming months, SCA will launch a unified sca Coffee skills Program website where students and AST can manage their educational profiles. At the same time, students and instructors can continue to access traditional SCAA and SCAE sites through www.sca.coffee/education.
