Classification of raw coffee beans
According to the origin of coffee beans can be divided into four categories: according to the above map, you can get a general idea of the distribution of these four kinds of coffee.
Colombian moderates (Colombian Milds): including Colombia, Kenya and Tanzania, all coffee beans are washed.
Other moderates (Other Milds): also known as centrists, including most Central American countries and Mexico, plus some countries in South Asia. All the coffee beans are Arabica, most of them are washed beans.
Brazil: includes Brazilian coffee and some South American coffee. Most of the coffee beans are unwashed coffee beans, and some are Robosta beans.
Robustas: including most African coffee and some Asian coffee. All the coffee beans are grown by Robosta.
This classification is often used in coffee markets to better distinguish the type, quality and price of coffee.
Colombian moderates are the best quality and highest price category, followed by other moderates, centrists, Brazilians and Robesta.
