Suddenly asked what tools were needed to make coffee, and in the evening I sorted out a list and sent it over.

Now I calmed down and saw the list again, remembering that Jingjing asked a similar question at the end of last year. So I decided to sort out the contents of hand-brewed coffee and share it with you, and at the same time, I also happened to make a summary of the process of tasting coffee in recent years.

At the beginning, I emphasize: this is just a so-called literacy series made up of my superficial knowledge. We don't have to have too many illusions. At most, we can only get started.

There will be three articles in this series.

The first article: about tools, that is, this article

The second article: about coffee beans

The third article: about hand extraction.

When it comes to hand-brewing coffee, before we formally introduce the tools, let's take a look at the main process of tasting coffee.

Please read this form a few more times, or you can often turn it out to deepen your memory.

Among them, the content of tasting mainly includes aroma (flavor), taste and taste.

With regard to flavor, we would like to offer you the most classic SCAA flavor wheel in coffee tasting.

I don't understand much about SCAA Flavor Wheel. I won't make a fool of myself. If you are interested, you can read this article: SCAA2018 Coffee Flavor Wheel HD Map | learn the simplest and most intuitive coffee flavor terms (Coffee net article, own Baidu).

Let's officially enter the tool introduction.

1. Hand mill or electric mill of three artifacts.

Hand mill, as its name implies, is a tool for grinding coffee beans manually. The electric mill naturally uses electricity, which mainly saves time and effort, but it will also be much more expensive.

Whether hand mill or electric mill, the greatest influence on coffee flavor is the grinding particle size and uniformity, which is also the most key index for the selection of hand mill / electric mill.

Entry recommended hand mill model: Hario MSS-1B or MSCS-2TB, electric mill model: Huijia ZD10.

two。 Hand punch the hand of the three artifacts.

The upper right corner of this picture is the hand punch pot.

Its main function is to inject water into the coffee powder to effectively control the flow speed, so as to achieve the purpose of controllable extraction of coffee liquid.

Recommended model for entry: Hario VKB-120HSV.

3. Hand-punched filter cup of three artifacts (including filter paper)

The filter cup, used in conjunction with filter paper, is mainly used to prevent coffee powder from being mixed with coffee liquid in the extraction process, affecting the taste.

The so-called double-layer metal filter is not recommended here. The residue leaked into the coffee liquid will seriously affect your taste and cognition of coffee.

Entry recommended model: Hario V60 filter cup.

Filter paper can also be purchased directly from Hario.

4. Coffee sharing pot

The sharing pot is used in conjunction with the filter cup to pick up the coffee liquid filtered so that it can be poured into multiple coffee cups for many people to enjoy.

There are no special requirements for sharing pots, and if you have to say yes, you'd better buy one with a capacity scale to make it easy to distinguish the amount of extract when there is no electronic scale.

Recommended model for entry: Hario XGS-36T.

5. Electronic scale

There are two main functions of electronic scales: weighing coffee beans and judging the amount of extraction liquid during extraction.

As the extraction time should be paid attention to in the extraction process, it is recommended to buy electronic scales that can be timed and measured.

The electronic scale does not have the recommended model for entry, but pays attention to two functions: weighing (fine to grams, clear zero) and timing

6. Electronic thermometer

Different coffee beans have slightly different flavors extracted at different water temperatures.

Excessive temperature extraction of sour coffee beans may lead to obvious astringency.

If the bitter coffee beans are extracted at too low temperature, they may not be able to extract the full-bodied taste.

Therefore, before the beginning of extraction, especially in the pursuit of the best flavor, we need to use an electronic thermometer to strictly control the water temperature during hand extraction.

Electronic thermometer also does not have the recommended model, pay attention to the choice of needle type electronic thermometer.

7. Coffee cup

It takes a few minutes to extract a cup of coffee, and finally, of course, to taste it, the coffee cup becomes essential.

Ordinary glasses, water cups, ordinary mugs, and even disposable paper cups can actually act as coffee cups.

If you have to give a reason to buy a coffee cup, it is: force the box.

Coffee cups are also not recommended, according to personal preference.

This is the end of the tool chapter, to make a good cup of coffee, you also need to pay attention to the coffee beans and hand extraction process.
