What kind of coffee beans is the mocha pot suitable for brewing coffee? what are the advantages, disadvantages and steps of using the mocha pot?
Espresso is delicious, but not all families have the money and space to own an espresso machine. Therefore, more friends have mocha pots at home. Mocha pots are convenient and quick. They only need to fill the hot water and coffee powder, then put them on the heating device and wait for coffee.
However, the coffee made by the mocha pot is not as good as today's espresso machine, and the mocha pot appeared more as a substitute for the espresso machine. However, it is understood that the extraction of espresso today presses the boiling hot water over the tight coffee pressed powder with extremely high pressure, and such a high pressure has been reached since modern times. with the development of the production technology of espresso machine.
If you want to understand the emergence of the mocha pot, you have to mention the history of the espresso machine. The first espresso machine was on display in Turin, Italy, at the end of the 19th century. In 1905, La Pavoni's first commercial espresso machine appeared, allowing baristas to provide espresso to many people in a very short time. Later, more and more cafes in Italy use La Pavoni coffee machines.
This large commercial espresso machine needs to heat the whole device on a flame when making coffee, and the inside of the machine is used for internal steam to flow hot water from the bottom of the cubicle from a tube leading to the coffee powder. But this machine is so expensive and bulky that unless it is a wealthy family, it is impossible for the average family to have such a coffee machine at home.
The emergence of the mocha pot dates back to the 1930s, when Cruzinaro, from north of Piedmont, invented the mocha pot. Alfonso Bialetti returned home after working in the French aluminum industry for more than 10 years and returned to Piedmont to set up his own workshop to produce aluminum household products. One day, when Bialetti saw his wife having an idea while washing clothes, she had the invention of mocha teapot. At that time, the machine used for washing clothes was divided into two layers, the lower layer was filled with soapy water and then heated to boiling, the upper layer was filled with clothes to be washed, and in the middle was a pipe connecting the two layers, and hot soapy water poured into the upper layer through the pipe and dispersed on the clothing. With the help of Luigi de Ponty (Luigi De Ponti), the mocha pot we see today was developed.
The Biloti mocha pot works on the same principle as the washing machine mentioned above. It is an octagonal aluminum kettle with a colloidal handle for thermal insulation. The equipment is mainly divided into three parts: the lowest container is used to hold hot water, the top container is used to extract the extracted coffee liquid, and the middle is a metal filter used to hold the ground coffee powder.
When brewing coffee in a mocha pot, first put a certain amount of hot water in the lower pot, add coffee powder to the middle metal filter, then install the filter on the lower pot, then tighten the upper pot, and finally place the whole coffee brewing device on the heating apparatus. When the water in the lower pot boils, it produces steam. As the space in the lower pot is limited, as the water vapor increases, the pressure in the lower pot increases, forcing the hot water in the lower pot to go from the pipe in the lower pot to the coffee powder in the middle layer, and then to the upper pot through the pipe on the metal filter.
The mocha pot appeared to replace the espresso machine at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, but after decades of precipitation and development, the extraction pressure of the espresso machine has far exceeded the 1.5 Pa in ancient times. and because the water goes up through boiling, it also means that the temperature of the water is on the high side. It is very different from the espresso extracted by today's espresso machine. One of the advantages and disadvantages of mocha pot brewing coffee is that there is no rich oil, and the extraction pressure of modern Italian coffee maker is much higher than that of mocha pot, which means that mocha pot does not produce as much coffee oil as Italian coffee maker.
In addition, the reason for the advantages and disadvantages of this mocha pot is that the metal filter is relatively sparse, the powder of the mocha pot is thicker than that of the Italian coffee maker, and as the powder becomes thicker, the contact area between water and powder particles decreases, so there are fewer substances that can be extracted, that is to say, the coffee made by the mocha pot is not as thick as the Italian coffee maker.
Many friends want to make their own espresso at home, and they are also equipped with mocha pots at home. So it comes to this question: what kind of coffee beans can be cooked in a mocha pot? Because the mocha pot is designed to replace the ancient espresso machine, and espresso is characterized by mellow and smooth, in order to be rich in oil, you need some deep-roasted coffee beans.

The yellow bourbon variety was discovered in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo in the 1870s. Later, through scientific research, it was found that the pectin layer of the yellow bourbon variety was more abundant, and the pectin layer contained a lot of sugars, which made the sweetness of the yellow bourbon variety more obvious. Qianjie, the yellow bourbon variety of coffee beans, uses the most primitive and traditional post-processing method of raw coffee beans-sun treatment. Retain the complete peel and pulp, so that more sugars can infiltrate into the coffee beans, making a qualitative leap in sweetness.
The Queen's Manor has won a number of awards since the first Brazilian Excellence Cup Coffee Competition in 1999, and has won 12 awards in seven years, which shows that the coffee beans produced by the Queen's Manor are of superior quality. And the sun treatment method needs to invest a lot of artificial labor, in order to avoid bad fermentation flavor, the Queen's Manor specially used small-scale sun to ensure the quality of raw beans.
