ACATENANGO
Acatenango, located on the slope of Mount Fuego in southern Guatemala, is considered to be a hidden jewel in Guatemala's coffee-growing areas. The coffee here grows in the dense shade of 6500 feet (2000 meters), creating a forest, sheltered by many local and migratory birds, and is an ecological gift.
The continued eruption of nearby Fuego volcano fills the rough sandy soil with minerals, providing delicious fuel for coffee from the region. Mild winds from the Pacific and obvious seasons allow coffee to dry in the sun, following ancient family traditions.
The outline of the Acatenango coffee cup is fragrant, balanced and clean, with a long finish.
