Fazenda Capim Branco, which has been in the Andrade family since 1901, is one of the oldest professional coffee farms in Brazil. It is located near Paraneba on the green Serrado Minero plateau in the northern state of Minas Gerais, bordering Bahia. It is the first coffee producing region in Brazil to gain the status of origin, making it similar to the status of famous wine regions.
