Robusta

Most coffee grown in Ghana is Robusta, which grows at low elevations and warmer temperatures than Arabica. Ghana's highest point is only about 400 meters above sea level, and its warm tropical climate makes it an ideal place to grow Robusta.

But in the field of specialty coffee, Robusta was greatly overtaken by Arabica coffee (Arabica). Robusta has much more caffeine than Arabica, so its taste is often described as bitter or elastic. Because of this reputation, it is often completely ignored by professional coffee roasters and consumers.

However, there are also those who support the use of good robusta coffee, who believe that it can be as delicious as some Arabica coffee as long as it is produced, processed and roasted.
