1. SUMATRA (Sumatra)

A large island in western Indonesia, located above the equator, with an area of 473000 square kilometers, is the sixth largest island in the world. 2. JAVA (Java)

3. SULAWESI (Sulawesi)

BALI (Bali)

FLORES (Flores)

Flores is the last main island in a series of islands extending eastward from Java. It is mountainous, especially in the west, and there are some active volcanoes in the middle and east. Although it is a late area to put into the coffee industry, it has also developed a good reputation in growing coffee.

TYPICA Iron pickup-is an original variety introduced from the Netherlands. Most of the TYPICA was destroyed by coffee leaf rust in Indonesia in the late 1880s. However, TYPICA mutations of Bergandal and Sidikalang can still be found in high-altitude areas of Sumatra.

Hibrido de Timor (HDT), also known as "Tim Tim", is a natural mixture of Arabica and Robusta. It seems to be a variety of single coffee from 1917 to 18 and was planted in Aceh in 1979.

Linie S-this strain was originally in India and evolved from Bourbon. The most common varieties are s-288 and s-795. It is usually planted in Aceh, Flores and Lindong provinces.

The Ethiopian lines Ethiopian line, including Rambung and Abyssinia, was brought to Java in 1928. Has been planted in Aceh. Another group of Ethiopian variants, called "USDA", was found in Sumatra and spread to Indonesia in the 1950s.

The Caturra Kaddura variety, Caturra, is a natural mutant bourbon coffee that originated in Brazil.

Catimor Katim variety-a hybrid of Arabica and Robusta developed to improve flavor and resistance to diseases and insect pests. There are many subspecies under Catimor, and most of the ongoing studies are on which Catimor is suitable to be planted in Aceh and has a good cup test performance.
