Qianjie-brief introduction of coffee bean varieties
Coffee tree is a flowering plant of the genus Coffea of Rubiaceae. At present, there are about 120 species, ranging from small shrubs to 18-meter-tall trees. Wild coffee species grow irregularly in the tropics, and new species are still being discovered. Strictly speaking, only two major species of coffee are cultivated to produce coffee: Arabica coffee (Arabica) and Canifra coffee (English Canephora, often referred to as "Robusta coffee"). However, in order to meet the needs of domestic coffee consumption, a third species, Liberian coffee, has been planted in a small number of countries such as the Philippines.
If the variety of coffee is divided by biology, it can be divided into Arabica, Robusta and Liberica. The main drinking varieties in the world are Arabica and Robusta. Lieberica is often overlooked because of its low yield or poor quality.
Arabica variety
Typica, the ancestor of the Arabica family, is the native variety of Arabica, which is very fragrant and floral, characterized by light acidity and soft aroma of the citrus family.
Bourbon, one of the original qualities of Arabica, is only a mutant of Tibica. If Bourbon and Tibica are compared to twin brothers, then Tibbon is the elder brother and Bourbon is the younger brother, born a few seconds later. Bourbon has a strong aroma and rich acidity.
Geisha, a talented person in the family, has a very low yield and is a very valuable variety. It is characterized by strong aroma and refreshing sour taste, full of personality taste has attracted the attention of many people.
Kaddura (Caturra), the younger brother of Bourbon, is a small and representative bourbon mutant in dwarf races, native to higher elevations, with a light sour taste and concentration.
Mondonovo (Mundo Novo), the child of Bourbon and Manning, is a hybrid of Bourbon and Mantenin. It has a strong ability to adapt to the environment and has an outstanding sense of balance in taste.
Kaddura (CATURRA): produced at higher altitudes with a light sour taste and concentration, slightly monotonous than the acid of the native species.
As the Arabica family in Arabica is too powerful, there are many mutants and collateral varieties, so I won't list them one by one here.
Knowledge: Robusta coffee beans can not only play the role of "price adjustment", but also increase the alcohol thickness of coffee.
