Liberia (Liberica)

The Liberian species is native to Africa, Liberia, Malaysia and a few other countries. It has a strong adaptability to temperature, humidity and other environments, and its flavor is worse than that of the Arabica species. Therefore, it is only traded in some West African countries (Libya, C ô te d'Ivoire, etc.), or planted for research use.

Its cultivation history is slightly shorter than that of the other two coffee trees. Liberian coffee trees are suitable for growing in lowlands. Its trunk is high and strong, 18 meters high, its leaves are large and tough, and its fruits and coffee beans are also very large. Its seed coat is close to the seed kernel and is scarlet when it is mature.

The top of the branch of the iron pickup is usually reddish brown, so it is also called red top coffee. It originated from Ethiopia, was introduced to India through Yemen in the 16th century, and then to Java, Indonesia. In the 17th century, iron card seedlings were given to France by the Dutch and later spread to all parts of the world. At the end of the 18th century, French missionaries brought it to Yunnan, China.
