Qianjie-introduction of three major coffee beans and iron pickup coffee varieties
Coffee tree is a small shrub growing in cold areas with white or yellow fruit. The big core of this fruit is coffee beans. Coffee beans are currently grown in 66 countries and are divided into three main categories: Arabica, Robusta and Liberia. Among them, Arabica and Robusta are the two most widely circulated coffee beans on the market.
Arabica (Arabica)
Arabica species originated in the Ethiopian plateau and was introduced to Europe through Arabia in the 16th century. Arabica accounts for 75% and 80% of all coffee. Its high-quality aroma makes it a favorite coffee variety in the world. The world-famous Blue Mountain Coffee and Mocha Coffee are almost all Arabica species.
This variety of coffee beans is not resistant to diseases and insect pests, and its growth conditions are relatively harsh, but it tastes better than Robusta. Arabica coffee beans are now mainly grown in South America, Central America, Africa and Asia.
Robusta (Robusta)
The hot and humid zone is suitable for the growth of Robusta coffee, which has a unique aroma and bitter taste, accounting for only 2%-3% of the mixed coffee, and the whole cup of coffee becomes the Robusta flavor, therefore, the Robusta flavor is very distinct.
It is generally used in instant coffee, bottled coffee, liquid coffee and other industrial production coffee, the caffeine content is about 3.2%, much higher than 1.5% of Arabica species. The main producing countries are Indonesia, Vietnam and West Africa centered on C ô te d'Ivoire, Algeria and Angola.
Liberia (Liberica)
The Liberian species is native to Africa, Liberia, Malaysia and a few other countries. It has a strong adaptability to temperature, humidity and other environments, and its flavor is worse than that of the Arabica species. Therefore, it is only traded in some West African countries (Libya, C ô te d'Ivoire, etc.), or planted for research use.
Its cultivation history is slightly shorter than that of the other two coffee trees. Liberian coffee trees are suitable for growing in lowlands. Its trunk is high and strong, 18 meters high, its leaves are large and tough, and its fruits and coffee beans are also very large. Its seed coat is close to the seed kernel and is scarlet when it is mature.
The top of the branch of the iron pickup is usually reddish brown, so it is also called red top coffee. It originated from Ethiopia, was introduced to India through Yemen in the 16th century, and then to Java, Indonesia. In the 17th century, iron card seedlings were given to France by the Dutch and later spread to all parts of the world. At the end of the 18th century, French missionaries brought it to Yunnan, China.
Knowledge: Kaddura's adaptability is strong, does not need shade trees, direct exposure to the sun can also be full of vitality, known as exposure coffee (Sun Coffee), can adapt to high-density planting, but must apply more fertilizer, increase costs, so the initial acceptance of coffee farmers is not high.
