Introduction to the varieties of Qianjie-bourbon coffee
Bourbon coffee (French: Caf é Bourbon) is a kind of coffee produced by growing coffee trees in bourbon cultivation of Arabica coffee. Bourbon coffee was originally grown in Reunion, which was also known as bourbon Island (? le Bourbon) before 1789. Later occupied by France to connect with the African continent and Latin America, it is now one of the two most popular producers of Arabica coffee in the world. Bourbon coffee is usually produced between 3500 and 6500 feet above sea level.
When Reunion was a French colony, its name was Bourbon. Bourbon? Isn't bourbon an inherent variety of Arabica coffee? Yes, that's how bourbon gets its name.
In 1715, about 40 coffee trees were shipped from the Yemeni port of Moka to Reunion. Unfortunately, only two coffee trees survived. Thanks to the island's favorable climate, coffee trees grew well, and the first coffee plantation on the island was born around 1719. In order to develop the coffee industry, the island government made it mandatory for islanders, whether black or white, to plant 100 coffee trees every year.
The Act of 1723 was strengthened to increase the number of plants to 200 and stipulated that no one should damage the coffee tree or be sentenced to death. Under such tough regulations, the coffee growing industry has indeed developed greatly, and the coffee produced on the island and transported to other countries and regions are called bourbon coffee. Coffee has a soft aroma of fruit and caramel.
Bourbon, as an inherent variety of Arabica coffee, has a better flavor than other subvarieties and varieties, but one of the biggest disadvantages of the inherent variety is its low yield. Under the pressure of today's fast-paced life and a large number of life needs, quantity is more important than quality in coffee production (although fine coffee has received more and more attention in recent years, it is not very popular after all). Inherent varieties such as bourbon and Tibica have disappeared. But the status of Reunion as an important export and naming place of bourbon coffee in the history of coffee can not be forgotten.
The island of Reunion now basically does not produce coffee, and we can only recall the taste of Reunion coffee through varieties of bourbon and bourbon coffee. I believe it must be a kind of boutique coffee with excellent flavor and can never be forgotten.
