For years, it has been believed that drinking coffee affects the absorption of calcium by bones. In addition, the research team from the University of Hong Kong conducted an archival survey of 564 volunteers who had previously participated in the study of osteoporosis and found that those who were not sick often drank coffee.
It was found that regular coffee drinkers had higher levels of 12 serum metabolites that are important for bone mineral density, especially 3 (quinic acid, 3-hydroxypyridine sulfate, trigonelline).
"of these metabolites, 11 are associated with regular coffee consumption and 6 with caffeine metabolism. Studies have confirmed that regular coffee drinking can significantly improve BMD of the lumbar vertebrae and cervical vertebrae. " The author of the article said.
