What's the flavor and taste of Blue Mountain Coffee? is it authentic Blue Mountain Coffee?
At present, there is actually only one area in Jamaica that produces enough coffee, and that is the Blue Mountains. Blue Mountain is one of the most famous coffee producing areas in the world, where coffee prices are high. For a long time, most Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee beans have been sold to Japan, and the beans are packed in small wooden buckets instead of sacks. Because they can sell at high prices, there are often a large number of fake blue mountain beans on the market.
Only in Saint Andrew, Saint Thomad, Poriland and Saint Mary areas, coffee grown at 900-1500m above sea level is eligible to be called authentic Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee (Jamaica Blue Mountain). The coffee grown at 450-900m is called Jamaican Alpine Coffee (Jamaica High Mountain). Those below this altitude are called Jamaican coffee beans of choice (Jamaica Supreme) or Jamaican low-altitude coffee beans (Jamaica Low Mountain). Most of the coffee here is named after the processing plant rather than the grower, because the factory buys ripe cherries from small farmers and rarely separates them except on large estates.
