One of the most important things to produce good coffee beans is the location: low latitudes and high elevations.

Taiwan is an island full of hills and mountains, which is very suitable for growing high-quality tea. Almost every county and city has tea gardens. But coffee beans need a hotter environment to ripen. Only the mountains of south-central Taiwan have enough conditions to breed high-quality coffee beans, and Alishan is an excellent place.

Incidentally, Zou Chuyuan's coffee farm used to grow tea and orchids, but it was later acquired by fate, and it was only after several years of hard work and achievements that it was turned into a coffee farm.

The high altitude of Alishan can create enough temperature difference for coffee beans to synthesize enough sugar during the day and slow down their growth at night to develop complex flavors. As a result, coffee beans are graded in many countries according to altitude. The higher the altitude, the harder the coffee beans, and the better the quality on average.

Fang Zhenglun, Prince of Coffee, who strives for continuous progress.

It is not enough to have a coffee farm at an altitude of 1200 meters, which can be seen from the hardships of the owner of Zou Chuyuan Manor, Zheng Lun.

When he first started planting coffee seedlings 20 years ago, Fang Zhenglun only drank coffee in Taipei, but he didn't know anything about the planting, variety, treatment, roasting, and so on. Twenty years ago, resources were not as abundant as they are now, so Fang Zhenglun constantly experimented with different ways of working by means of indigenous steelmaking.

Fang Zhenglun often told people with a smile that in his early years, he would hand-pick coffee cherries to take out coffee beans, and later there was a lot of coffee beans. He even tried to throw a bag of coffee cherries against the wall and run over a car to do "treatment." at that time, I didn't know what kind of sun drying or washing. Roasting coffee beans is also a wok and barbecue grill. The coffee beans were scorched and blackened when they were roasted for the first time, but as soon as they were crushed, the strong aroma of coffee ran out, giving him a glimmer of hope.

Taiwan started holding coffee bean competitions in 2007, and Fang Zhenglun, who threw coffee cherries on the wall, was surprised to win the first championship. So they began to make efforts to improve the environment of the manor, buy more professional equipment, and find experts in the coffee industry to exchange and learn.

However, life is always more tortuous than the plot of the movie. Just after Zou Chuyuan's coffee garden, processing plant, and coffee shop were all on track, a very famous "August Storm disaster" came and blocked the road in the mountains of southern Taiwan. Fang Zhenglun was not knocked down by the storm and took his coffee beans down to the market. At the same time, the government also held many exhibition activities to help farmers in the southern mountains.

A year later, Zheng Lun participated in the International SCAA (American Fine Coffee Association) coffee bean competition, and his sun and honey-treated coffee beans scored 91 and 93 points respectively.

After years of efforts, Zou Zhuyuan not only won various awards year after year, the value of coffee beans rose, Fang Zhenglun had a cup tester and other coffee certificates, and began to be called the "Prince of Coffee." For the current coffee prince Fang Zhenglun, the significance of participating in the competition is not to win a prize, but to test whether his improvement and experiment on coffee beans are successful through the competition. Because every day he is always thinking about how to make Zou Zhuyuan's coffee beans climb to another tall building!

Not only coffee beans, but also let Zou Zhuyuan advance the world!

Zou Zhuyuan currently grows 20 varieties of coffee, including Geisha, which is popular all over the world. Fang Zhenglun plans to classify them and send them abroad for genetic identification. He believes that in order to enhance the flavor of coffee beans to a better level, the varieties must be clearly divided and carefully taken care of according to different characteristics in order to highlight the unique flavor of the varieties.

Fang Cheng-lun's ambition does not stop there. He hopes that after identifying all the varieties, he will be able to hybridize coffee beans that belong to special varieties in Taiwan and become famous all over the world.

By the way, Zou Zhuyuan's newly identified native variety is named So'ngna "Sona", which means "the best and the best".
