600 mL water plus rinse solution

Description:

Boil the water and let it stand for 30 seconds. Heat the water to 96 °C.

Expand the Chemex filter paper and insert it into the top of the pot, making sure that the 3-layer side of the filter paper is aligned with the inverted nozzle.

Pour hot water into the filter paper for about 5 seconds. Keep the filter paper in place and discard the flushing water.

If you are using pre-ground coffee, skip to step 5. Otherwise, weigh your whole bean coffee and grind it on a slightly thicker setting.

Pour the ground coffee into the filter paper and gently shake the brewer back and forth to settle.

Start the timer, then slowly pour the right amount of water on the ground to evenly moisturize (about 70 grams). (time: 0:00-0:45) sit it down until your timer reads for 45 seconds. When hot water forces coffee to release trapped gas, this step is called "bubbling".

Start continuous pouring in a spiral. (time: 0:45-2:45) try to avoid pouring directly into the center or edge of the filter paper. If the water level is near the edge of the Chemex, pause for a moment to drain it before continuing. Stop dumping when the timer reading is 2:45 or the balance reading is 600g.

Let all the water be discharged through the filter paper. (time: 2:45-3:30) remove the filter paper from the emitter and discard the ground. If your final time is longer than 4:00, your grinding may be too good. If your final time is less than 3:00, your grinding may be too rough.
