The shape of coffee filter paper

The types of corrugated filter paper are divided into: 155and 185155 are suitable for 1-2 people, and 185 filter paper is suitable for 2-4 people.

The shape and size of the filter paper determine the fit degree between the filter paper and the filter cup. When the filter paper with mismatched shape can not fit perfectly with the filter cup, it is easy to cause the gap between the filter paper and the filter cup, which changes the diversion effect of the filter cup and leads to the negative effect of unequal coffee extraction.
The thickness of the paper
Different brands of filter paper thickness will be different, which determines the fiber structure of the paper, thickness will change the flow rate of water. Thin filter paper is easy to close the filter cup and restore the effect of the filter cup, but it can not be as thin as cicada wings. Thick filter paper will slow down the flow rate, but the filter effect will also be better.
How do we choose between log filter paper and bleached filter paper?
Log filter paper refers to unbleached filter paper, which is light brown and smells like paper. Bleached filter paper refers to the bleached filter paper, which is white and has no obvious paper smell. Unlike traditional chemical bleaching, enzyme bleaching uses bioactive enzymes for bleaching. It is widely used in the field of medicine. Therefore, in the purchase of coffee filter paper must choose a large brand, the price is reasonable, some too cheap filter paper regardless of material, size and bleaching technology can not be guaranteed.
Must the filter paper be moistened before making coffee by hand?
On this issue, brown friends mostly discuss it from three points of view: first, remove the smell of filter paper; second, filter paper can better fit the filter cup; third, preheat coffee utensils by the way.
About removing the smell of filter paper: Qianjie also said that because the log filter paper has not been bleached, it will have more or less the smell of paper, so those who use log filter paper need to wet the filter paper to reduce the effect of paper flavor on coffee flavor. Filter paper can better fit the filter cup: in fact, if you pour powder directly without wetting the filter paper, you can better let the filter paper stick to the filter, and the dry filter paper can be steamed and the wet filter paper will be steamed, the exhaust effect of the former will be better. Some coffee lovers will say that the non-wetting filter paper will absorb part of the coffee liquid when brewing the coffee paper, but it will also be the same when the filter paper is actually wetted. Compared with the same parameters and techniques, there is not much difference in the taste of coffee between wetting and non-wetting filter paper.
