I also have a daily habit of drinking coffee. I recently bought a bag of beans on Qianjie Coffee in Guangzhou and saw a COE22 on the label of their home. What on earth is this? It is neither the producing area nor the flavor degree. Today, let's find out.

coe

C.O.E

C.O.E, whose full name is Cup of excellence, is the most deadly and authoritative boutique coffee competition in the world, and it is also the most credible competition in the top competition in the coffee industry. It is held every year, and boutique coffee breeders around the world submit their best coffee beans to the competition, and after accepting strict competition rules, there are often less than 30 samples left.

With the title of COE, the value of coffee beans in the market will rise, and producers will get better profits. It is the existence of this competition system that has greatly improved the competitiveness of coffee beans, and producers have changed from the pursuit of output to the pursuit of higher quality.

Looking at the COE22 of Qianjie Coffee, from the point of view of the package, the baking date is October 4th, 2021. This is a bean from Arsi Manor in Ethiopia. Its flavor is described as citrus, litchi, honey, fermented wine and so on. I used a powder-to-water ratio of 1:15, a water temperature of 90 °C, a V60 tapered filter cup and an overall cooking time of 120s. After a cup of three-stage cooking, you get such flavors: citrus, honey, mango, milk chocolate and so on. The overall taste is clean and sweet as the temperature drops. Worthy of the 22nd place in COE!

Production area information to be continued.
