Yunnan Pu 'er: Coffee bean prices plummeted A village pressure inventory of 800 tons

Friends who are used to drinking coffee all know that several major brands of coffee are concentrated overseas. According to data from the US Department of Agriculture, Brazil ranked first in the world with 54500 bags in the coffee season from 2010 to 2011, Vietnam ranked second in the world with a total output of 18725 bags, Colombia ranked third in the world with a total output of 9500 bags, and China's coffee production has become larger and larger in recent years. In Yunnan, coffee is a local industry that has developed rapidly in recent years. Three months ago, a reporter from the financial channel went to Yunnan to investigate the phenomenon of local high-speed expansion. Now, it is the peak season for coffee sales this season. How is the local sales now? let's take a look at the reporter's investigation.

The reporter came to Dakaihe Village, Pu 'er City, Yunnan Province again. There were no coffee beans dried by each household on the roadside. Shi Youfu, who grows coffee, is no longer in the fields. Now his main job every day is to contact coffee buyers. In order to sell coffee, Shi Youfu specially prepared a suit.

Yunnan Pu 'er City Dakaihe Village villagers Shi Youfu told reporters: This year I just came down fresh fruit about 60 tons, sold 3 tons of finished coffee beans, now there may be more than 6 tons. It's not better than last year, it's a hundred thousand less, and this year it's increasing production but not income.

Shi Youfu's warehouse is also stacked with about 7 tons of processed coffee beans. Compared with last year, Shi Youfu sold 10,000 yuan less coffee beans per ton this year. Arabica coffee futures on the New York Stock Exchange soared all the way in 2011, peaking at more than 41 yuan/kg in May last year, but have fallen all the way this year and are now about 22 yuan per kg, almost halving. More worrying for Shi Youfu is that his partner for many years, Nestle, has stopped buying coffee beans.

Shi Youfu, a villager of Dakaihe Village, Pu 'er City, Yunnan Province: What he (Nestle) means is that the warehouse is not enough, and the warehouse cannot be loaded.

Shi Youfu's village secretary Hua Honglin is also anxious about this.

Hua Honglin, Party Branch Secretary of Dakaihe Village, Pu 'er City, Yunnan Province: The common people are very anxious. In those days, I have to receive more than 400 calls every day, all of which are on my mobile phone. What should I do?

Hua Honglin investigated every coffee grower in the village and recorded the current inventory of each family.

Hua Honglin, Party branch secretary of Dakaihe Village, Pu 'er City, Yunnan Province, told reporters: 6 pages of paper, 11 villagers' groups, 11 villagers 'groups of coffee have not been sold out, some have been sold, and there are still more than 870 tons of coffee in total

Nestle: Acquisition complete Warehouse full Cannot forecast purchase volume

Nestle is the brand with the largest consumption volume in China. It is also the largest coffee bean purchaser in Pu 'er, Yunnan Province. Three months ago, we reported that Nestle's coffee acquisition point was overcrowded. Why does this company suddenly stop acquiring now? For this reason, the reporter once again came to Nestle's purchasing point in Pu 'er.

Nestle's purchasing point is located in the grain reserve warehouse in Pu 'er City, Yunnan Province, which is different from the lively scene when the reporter came last time. The empty price list at the door shows that Nestle no longer provides quotation. A statement from Nestle said it would stop buying coffee from March 31.

Nestle agronomy department staff Li Sunqiang told reporters: Do not accept is not to receive, now we book this part or still receive. (When did you make the reservation? Did you book this part long ago or before the 31st?) Reservations made before the 30th

In Li Sunqiang's record book, each warehousing and ex-warehouse is recorded in detail. At present, Nestle's four warehouses are all full, and only part of them can be shipped out and then collected. In this warehouse alone, the stock is as high as 1200 tons, which is shipped out at a rate of about 80 tons per day. It will take three weeks to complete the shipment.

Subsequently, Nestle's headquarters in Beijing also explained to reporters that Nestle has purchased 9000 tons of coffee beans at present, the procurement plan has been completed, and it is possible to consider additional purchases only after the warehouse has space.

Dong Yuguo, vice president of Nestle Greater China Group Affairs, said: "This year, coffee farmers sold coffee very enthusiastically, and the task was overfulfilled at the end of March." There is no communication with farmers about the specific acquisition plan for each year, because this is a business plan of the company. The amount purchased each year is stable. Nestlé has discussed long-term acquisition ideas with local governments. There is no commitment or no commitment. There is no saying that I will double this year or anything.

However, the reporter also noticed in Pu 'er City that some coffee growers are still reluctant to sell when coffee bean prices are falling all the way.

Shi Youfu, a villager of Dakaihe Village, Pu 'er City, Yunnan Province: I asked several (purchasers). They said they still wanted the goods, but the good first-class rice was 18-19 pieces. Nestle is 22.50.

Pu 'er Longxin Coffee Factory salesperson Yao Hongqing told reporters: If sold to other local (manufacturers), the price is really very low, a catty lower than this 2-3 yuan, for us, is also a very important number.

The reporter learned that in Pu 'er, Nestle purchased more coffee in domestic production and sales, while most of the other coffee beans are exported. The price for export will be two or three yuan lower per kilogram, and it is the difference of two or three yuan that makes coffee farmers decide to store their coffee beans for a while longer. According to the data of Pu 'er City Coffee Office, there are still nearly 8000 tons of coffee beans in the hands of growers.
