From a small coffee bean to a cup of strong coffee, how much manpower is involved and how many processes are involved? Today, let's learn about the whole process.

1. The planting of coffee trees

Coffee trees are suitable for planting in tropical and subtropical regions, including Yunnan, Hainan and Taiwan in China. The coffee we drink every day is baked from the nuts of coffee beans grown on coffee trees. There are two kinds of coffee trees in the world, Arabica and Robusta. Different growing environments often give coffee different characteristics. Arabica grows best at high altitudes, while Robusta grows at low elevations. Its main producing areas are shown in the figure:

2. The choice of coffee beans

Coffee beans are berries that are often red when ripe. Like wine grapes, the choice of coffee beans is also important. First of all, take the seeds from the harvested coffee fruit and process the raw coffee beans, which is the "selection" process in the coffee process. After this process, the pulp and endocarp are removed, which is the so-called "refining" process. After that, the coffee beans are classified and those of poor quality are singled out. This is the so-called "selection". After that, the sun or water washing method is generally used, and after a certain degree of fermentation treatment, good beans with sweet and sour taste and rich taste can be obtained. After these processes, the raw coffee beans are sealed in bags and sold all over the world.

3. Roasting of coffee beans

After buying coffee beans, the baker will bake and mix them, which is the most important process!

The roasting time of coffee beans is generally not long, about 8-16 minutes. In the roasting process, coffee beans will go through a series of complex chemical changes, their color and size are very different from raw beans, but also emit an attractive aroma that originally did not have. According to the degree of baking, it is generally divided into shallow baking and deep baking. Shallow baking can better reflect the original flavor of beans, which tastes sweet and floral, while deep baking takes longer, so it tastes bitter and sweet.

4. Grinding of coffee beans

After the coffee beans are roasted, they are ready to drink and can be sold directly or further ground.

Generally speaking, coffee beans can be ground in a manual bean grinder or an electric motor, and after being developed into a powder, it is our common coffee powder.

5. Make coffee

Water-flushing coffee is to put coffee powder into an extraction vessel and extract it with normal temperature water instead of hot water. The coffee obtained in this way tastes mild, without strong bitterness and aroma. Of course, you can also carry out home-style simple extraction, add coffee powder and cold water to the coffee cup, and then extract it with a simple extraction device, so that a cup of strong coffee is ready!

Seeing this, I wonder if everyone has the impulse to have a cup of coffee right away. If there is, let's go! Go! Go! Go!
