The report also pointed out that the number of American adults drinking espresso-based cappuccinos and lattes increased from 13% last year to 18%, and the number of people who drank fine coffee every day also increased, from 31% in 2013 to 34%.

According to the report, the number of people who drink non-boutique coffee has dropped from 39% to 35%, which is the biggest factor leading to the decline in the total number of daily coffee drinkers.

Boutique coffee includes espresso and drinks made from specialty coffee beans of your choice.

The way Americans make coffee has also changed, with 29% of respondents preparing coffee with a single cup coffee machine, up from 20% last year, while the number of people using drip coffee machines has dropped from 58% to 53%.
