The choice viewpoint of household bean grinder how to choose bean mill?
The Italian equipment I use at home now is the KD210S coffee machine and the ZD12 bean grinder. The experience of using the coffee machine has been shared a lot before. A classmate replied that I hope I can also talk about the upgrade experience of the ZD bean grinder, because I am also a coffee lover who is constantly groping and need time to learn and experience, so I can write about my views on the bean grinder today.
I read a lot of articles about household bean grinders in the salon forum, and a lot of knowledge is worth learning. However, through my own thinking and practical experience, I also have some personal views.
First of all, is the performance of the bean grinder important to the product? It is certainly important, but this importance should be seen dialectically. This is what I think must be said after seeing that some of the Cankun 1817 had better be equipped with a MINI. My experience of the importance of the bean grinder is like this: the demand and ability of technology and taste experience determine the configuration of the equipment. In the pursuit of a high bean grinder, have you ever considered whether it matches the performance of your own coffee maker? Do you already have a keen sense of taste for coffee, able to drink espresso levels and a variety of small changes? Do you know which variables can cause changes in the taste of your taste during the production process? Generally speaking, have you learned to drink a cup of esp without the basic skills of how to control the taste of a cup of esp? Or, if some people don't drink esp~~ at all, if they don't solve these problems, what they buy is like using the most high-end SLR but using the auto file, which is worse than the card machine. So my view has always been that if I want to upgrade the coffee machine or bean grinder, it must be because I have improved my ability to taste esp to a new level, and the current equipment can not keep up with my level. All right, complaining is over.
So my own experience with the current bean grinder and coffee maker is that some recipes can be handled very well and can make a good esp, but there is nothing I can do about some recipes. Why? Matching formula has an optimal grinding range, this range is big or small (this is my own experience, anything wrong welcome criticism), this wide range of formula gives us very easy to give a good esp feeling, that is, do not pick the machine; this small range, and even some on that one or two points scale, it makes us feel very difficult to do well, very picky machine. Therefore, take the zd12 I use as an example, it can handle the brilliance of Brother Bird well, but not the perfect lover. It is because the concentricity and grinding accuracy are not enough, intuitively, it is that the scale is not fine enough, so I sometimes complain to the students in group Q that it would be good if the zd scale is adjusted by half a grid. In fact, there is a great difference between not only a half grid, but even a quarter of a grid, especially when it comes to some formulations where the best grinding area is very narrow. Therefore, I think the current zd series due to the design positioning is an entry-level reason, the accuracy of the scale and the corresponding ability are insufficient, so it can not give full play to the full ability of my KD210S, there are some good formulations I can not enjoy, so I have never stopped my investigation of all kinds of bean grinders.
For the household bean grinder, I have always chosen the standard, straight out, compact. Because the amount of household use is very small, if there is a dispenser, it is completely a place to store the residual powder, and the quantifier itself is a quantitative device, which makes sense only when it is adjusted and contains more powder. the correct way to use it is to dial a single or double according to the setting, not as hard as some people do. And the mechanical component actually lags behind in the current era of electronic control. Needless to say, now the price of one square meter in the city where I live has reached an average level of more than 20,000. Although I have been lucky enough not to be a house slave and become an owner, it is also necessary to make good use of home space. So I've been thinking about VARIO, or nuova simonelli grinder, and of course a small casadio bean grinder that I saw during a visit to the Huijia factory in the salon in August.
Does this look familiar? A lot like zd13? According to the introduction, the prototype machine which has redesigned the cutting tool from the current ZD series has corrected the problem that many students in the ZD series, including myself, feel very annoyed. These two days I am lucky to get this bean grinder for trial, first of all, my level is not enough to do an evaluation, just as a user's intuitive experience.
Just got the bean grinder, now my friend's coffee shop uses Aibao's megacrem coffee machine to make a comparison with the 900N bean grinder they use. Using lavazza's aroma beans, because it is a double-headed machine, I made four cups at the same time, two people taste and compare. The initial feeling is that from the point of view of the product, at least it can be tied with 900N.
I still have to cooperate with my KD210S and compare it with zd12 to see what the situation is.
The first concern is what has changed in the design of the tool? By comparison, we can see that the head of the new bean grinder is also similar to the conical knife of zd, and the cutter head is fixed by four screws, which is no longer the structure of the current zd series. Here is why there are some defects in the design of the zd series. The zd12-15 cutter head is adjusted at different distances through plastic bolts on both sides stuck on a spiral plastic track, that is, the scale we see. However, the problem with this structure is that the plastic track is easy to wear, and the response to the scale is not necessarily very accurate, so the scale of the zd series is not stepless and can only be adjusted one by one. And this cutter head is easily lifted by some fragments of residual powder and beans below, so that it can not accurately reflect the scale, so I have to clean up the fragments and powder of residual beans almost every week for ZD12 in order to maintain its relative stability. And because this casadio bean grinder is a prototype, I dare not dismantle it, but according to the factory, I have made improvements to the two problems I mentioned above. first, the spiral track of the cutter head has been changed to metal, which will enhance its durability and stability, and the fixing function of these four small screws is to correct the problem of incorrect scale response caused by the cutter head raised by the powder and bean fragments. As for how to clean it up. As I haven't got the full version of the English instruction manual yet, I'm still waiting for it to be supplemented later.
The bean grinder cancels the electronically controlled ration of the ZD13 and changes it to a time quantitative adjustment disc on the side. This will be explained in more detail below.
Look at some of the details of the design comparison, and zd13, it is an all-metal fuselage, the top cover of the bunker has also been changed to metal.
Compared with the changes in the scale, the scale of this new bean grinder has been refined a lot. At present, a large scale of ZD is equal to three large boxes and nine small boxes of this, that is to say, more fine tuning can be achieved. Another design change is that the scale of this casadio bean grinder is unlimited, and each adjustment requires pressing the back unlock key before turning the dial, which is usually locked. This also fixes the problem that the dial of the ZD series may move due to machine vibration.
At the bottom, casadio's bean grinder adds six sucker-shaped pads. With a smooth stone countertop like my kitchen, it absorbs steadily, and with the weight of the fuselage, there is almost no vibration, which is a lot better than the ZD series.
Compare the bracket of the powder outlet and the handle. Following the ZD13 powder outlet, ZD12 and 15 add this curved mouth to reduce flying powder, but the problem of residual powder still exists. Casadio has less residual powder, but if you want to minimize the problem of flying powder, it would be better to add a rubber cover with a handle powder bowl. In addition, the newly designed handle bracket allows the handle to be stuck on it without hand support, and the sensing button is only used in a fixed and quantitative state. If you want to powder manually, you must use the switch switch next to it.
Handle experience comparison, when using timing can be put on the handle to do other things.
Grinding, coupled with this ZD13 accessories, almost no flying powder, feel more uniform powder, the sound compared to ZD12 is not big.
The test shows that beans are the brilliance of Brother Bird. Personal feeling, may be due to improved uniformity, taste than ZD13 or 12 grinding powder made of esp taste purer and body feel thicker, fat performance is also very good.
Summary
Since this casadio home bean grinder is a GEW company (manufacturer of Huijia), the design follows many aspects of the Huijia ZD series. However, in view of the various problems of the current ZD series, corresponding modifications have been made one by one. However, due to my short trial time, how the fine-tuning effect of the scale of this bean grinder on the taste of esp needs to be further tried. And I feel that I can verify and try some beans that I can't handle with ZD series before, such as illy's red can, Bird's perfect lover and so on. These experiences will be shared later. I hope it can be used not only as a partner of KD210S, but also with a machine like musica.
Finally, my initial feeling is: this is an entry-level bean grinder with great progress. I don't know whether it will be sold in China under Huijia's brand. If the price is not expensive, I believe that in the price band of 1000-2000 yuan, there will be not only 500NMagi 900N and nuova simonelli grinter. I believe there is another choice for home esp production enthusiasts. I think it will make my KD210S play at its best, and of course this needs to continue to be verified in the daily esp taste.
