How to easily distinguish a good boutique coffee bean?
Boutique coffee is not a variety, nor a trademark, let alone a brand, it is a rigorous method of dealing with coffee beans, but also a symbol of paying attention to the quality and flavor of coffee.
From the perspective of variety
From high mountain areas, or after strict selection and classification, hard texture, rich taste, excellent flavor can be regarded as boutique coffee.
Judging from the way it is baked,
Boutique coffee is roasted in small quantities, with strict testing and analysis in advance, and then looked after by the roaster all the time, and will not stop until it is in the best condition. Commercial coffee, on the other hand, uses a lot of roasting in order to roast raw beans to brown, giving people the feeling of coffee.
In terms of freshness
Fresh coffee can be regarded as fine coffee, and the word "fresh" here refers to the freshness after baking. The flavor reaches its peak within about 7 days after baking, which is the best time to drink. Once it has been put for a long time, it will naturally decay and suffer oxidation, and the flavor will be much worse than before. Therefore, freshness is the basic requirement for defining fine coffee. Coffee that is not fresh enough can never be regarded as boutique coffee.
From the perspective of the way of selling
Boutique coffee will sell whole beans and let customers take them home to grind themselves. on the contrary, commercial coffee should be packed with iron cans, glass cans or plastic bags to pack poor coffee beans, coffee powder or instant coffee, so that it can slowly wait on the shelf for customers who immediately come to the door. although it has gorgeous packaging, it is not fine coffee.
From the perspective of the name of the commodity
Good coffee has its own characteristics, in order to highlight their own style, have their own names, such as: the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, Ethiopia Yegashafi, Antigua, Guatemala, Hawaii Kona, etc., will also be marked with grades.
