Boutique coffee introduction: Sumatra Mantenin Coffee Bean Mantenin Coffee Flavor
Mantning coffee beans have a strong aroma and low acidity, with a hint of herbs and earth.
Arabica saplings were first introduced to Ceylon (present-day Sri Lanka) and Indonesia by the Dutch in the 17th century. In 1877, a massive coffee rust disease hit the Indonesian islands, killing almost all coffee trees. People had to abandon Arabica, which had been in business for many years, and introduced Robusta coffee trees with strong disease resistance from Africa. Today Indonesia is a major coffee producer, with Robusta species accounting for 90% of total production. Indonesian coffee is mainly produced in Java, Sumatra and Sulawesi three islands, are volcanic terrain. Sumatra mantenin is the only Arabica species remaining, growing mainly on hillsides between 750 and 1500 meters above sea level. Mantning coffee beans have a strong aroma and low acidity, with a hint of herbs and earth. Mantenin coffee beans have large particles and hard bean quality. It is easy to have defects during planting and processing. After harvesting, they usually have to undergo strict manual selection. If the control process is not strict enough, it is easy to cause uneven quality, so they become controversial single products.
The origin of the name mantenin
Mandenin is not the name of the region, place name, port name, or coffee variety. In fact, it is a pronunciation error of the Indonesian mandenin mandheling people. During the Japanese occupation of Indonesia in World War II, a Japanese soldier drank excellent coffee in a cafe, so he asked the owner the name of the coffee. The owner mistook him for asking where you were from, so he replied: Mandenin. After the war, Japanese soldiers recalled drinking "Mantenin" in Indonesia. So he asked the coffee merchant to ship 15 tons to Japan, which was very popular. Mantenen's name was thus transmitted.
Lintong and Mandheling
The best of the traditional Arabica coffees grown in northern Sumatra are marketed under the names Lintong and Mandheling. To be precise, Lindong refers to coffee grown in a small area southwest of Toba Lake in Lindong Administrative District. Lindong coffee is grown without shade and without chemicals. Mantenin is a broader term that includes Linton coffee and coffee grown in similar conditions in Diari, north of Lake Toba.
Gold mantinin, collection mantinin
Gold mantinin: mantinin coffee beans particles larger, harder beans, the production process is easy to cause uneven quality defects, for this reason, producers adopt more strict quality control, after four manual picking beans, eliminate defective beans, produce dark green color, beans uniform, stable quality of gold mantinin.
Agedmandheling: It's called a "vintage" because green coffee beans are stored in cellars for three years before being produced. The successful collection of beans grinds away the unelegant sourness of mantadine, and the sour ingredients are matured and converted to sugar, making the coffee more round and sweeter.
