So he asked the coffee merchant to ship 15 tons to Japan, which was very popular. Mantenen's name was thus transmitted.

Lintong and Mandheling

The best of the traditional Arabica coffees grown in northern Sumatra are marketed under the names Lintong and Mandheling. To be precise, Lindong refers to coffee grown in a small area southwest of Toba Lake in Lindong Administrative District. Lindong coffee is grown without shade and without chemicals. Mantenin is a broader term that includes Linton coffee and coffee grown in similar conditions in Diari, north of Lake Toba.
