LaMarzocco is an Italian maker of espresso machines that have long been among the top coffee makers. Especially after LaMarzocco invented the GS series of double-boiler machines in 1970, the brand coffee machine was widely used in boutique coffee shops.

La Marzocco was founded in Florence, Italy in 1927 by brothers Giuseppe and Bruno Bambi.

History of La Marzocco

In 1927, the Bambi brothers founded Officina Fratelli Bambi, which produces espresso machines. The company's earliest products were branded "Fiorenza"(Florence). Soon after, the company began to adopt the name "il Marzocco"(the Florentine lion, Marzocco is the symbol of Florence), while "the lion sitting and the shield decorated with Florentine lilies"(representing victory and conquest) became the company Logo.

On February 25, 1939, at Gluseppe Bambi's suggestion, La Marzocco produced the first espresso machine with a horizontal boiler, which made it possible to install multiple brewing heads, simplifying the movement and operation of the barista.

After World War II, LaMarzocco quickly distinguished itself from other coffee machines by its own quality and characteristics.

In 1970, La Marzocco produced the world's first professional semi-automatic coffee machine with dual boilers, called the "GS Series"(GS means Gruppo Saturo-saturated brewing head).

The two main functions of the coffee machine are to make Italian coffee and milk, these two operations on the temperature requirements are different, using a boiler to meet the two temperature requirements at the same time, which is bound to affect the stability of the machine's own temperature. So, in the GS series, the water cycle is divided into two separate systems, each with its own boiler. This separation is crucial for making high-quality coffee. In this way,"sufficient steam can be generated stably at the required temperature without affecting the extraction water of espresso coffee, thus greatly enhancing the constant temperature performance of the machine."(LaMarzocco)。"GS" was a quick success once it was introduced to the market, and today it is still popular among the world's finest coffee shops.

In 2007 LaMarzocco designed a coffee machine for the American home market, the "GS/3", which was very well received by espresso fans: the new model is characterized by professional brewing quality (temperature stability), and the body is small (1 group), using 110V voltage, which is the standard voltage in the United States, thus reducing the trouble of replacing the 220V connector.

From 2000 to 2008, LaMarzocco was the official sponsor of the World Barista Competition and the supplier of coffee machines for the competition.
