In December 2004, the Colombia Coffee Producers Association (FNC) applied to the Colombia government for registration of the geographical indication "Café de Colombia"(Colombia coffee). Three months later, the government of Colombia approved "Café de Colombia" as "Designation of Origin-Geographical Indication (D.O.- G.I.)” 。So the logo became the official logo of the Colombia Coffee Producers Association
